One tap closer to 5-Star service: Wigglewifi launches tap4wifi for hospitality businesses
If you’re in the business of hosting – whether you’re running a boutique hotel, guesthouse, AirBnb, café, restaurant or airport business lounge – there is one question you hear over and over again: “What’s the WiFi password?”
It’s a small moment, but it adds up. Staff have to pause what they’re doing and wait while guests type in the password – often fumbling with spelling and capital letters. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. And meanwhile, the carefully crafted guest experience takes a tiny hit.
Wigglewifi, a local tech company specialising in smart connectivity solutions, is changing that.
On Monday, 12 May they officially launched tap4wifi – a simple and secure way to connect guests to a WiFi network – no password typing required.
“We designed tap4wifi because we kept seeing the same problem across so many establishments,” says Daniel Titton Managing Director and Founder of Wigglewifi. “Something as basic as sharing WiFi was creating unnecessary friction – both for the guest and the staff. We knew there had to be a smarter way.”
The tap4wifi solution
tap4wifi is an elegant wooden plaque embedded with a secure NFC chip that holds your WiFi network details. When a guest taps their phone against the plaque, their device connects instantly – no need to type or even see the password. A QR code is also included for phones that don’t support NFC.
The result?
• Faster, more seamless service
• Fewer interruptions for staff
• No more exposed passwords
• A polished, professional impression
Besides saving staff time and reducing repetitive interruptions, tap4wifi brings added peace of mind. The WiFi password is never displayed or shared – it’s stored securely in the NFC chip. This means you can keep stronger passwords without making access more difficult.
Built for Hospitality
tap4wifi plaques are made from premium wood veneers with a durable finish and they can be branded with your company logo. The setup is simple: you provide your network details securely and Wigglewifi programs and ships the ready-to-use plaque. “We wanted tap4wifi to blend into beautiful spaces, not look like tech dumped on a countertop,” says Titton. “It’s functional, but also design-conscious – just like the best hotels and restaurants.”
In hospitality, it’s the small touches that leave lasting impressions. Guests might not remember the exact thread count of the sheets – but they will remember connecting to the WiFi effortlessly, without calling the front desk or decoding a password longer than their stay.
